Modak Patr - The Steamer
This handcrafted copper steamer is called a modakpatr. A quintessential utensil in Maharashtra and South India, this modakpatr is a remake of the traditional product and is used to make the much loved sweet- modak.
Please note this is a remake of a traditional product with minor tweaks. It retains the rustic charm common in handcrafted artisanal products and may have uneven surfaces or edges. The products have been polished and may change color once received and after usage since metals get oxidized in the atmosphere. These products cannot be exchanged unless there is an obvious damage during delivery

Copper and brass oxidise on exposure to the atmosphere. In time, your copper/brass products may darken and begin to acquire a patina. Your product needs daily care to prevent oxidation. It should be washed with a soft cloth and a metal cleaning agent like Pitambari, lime & salt, or vinegar & salt or tamarind. Wipe dry immediately or else water residues will leave stains. Some waters cause dark spots on copper/brass. To remove, apply tamarind or vinegar or lime concentrate and leave for 15 minutes. Wash off with clean water.
